This trend is another one that may seem controversial for many shoe wearers, especially those who are more conservative. More Flip-Flops

Flip-flops are an excellent shoe in the summer time. They help keep the feet dry, (which is especially important if a person sweats a lot or just came from the water) and they are inexpensive. They can also fit a large variety of feet. Yet, there are two downsides with them. First, they are not very good for long-distance walking, as you might notice a blister from walking too much in a pair of flip-flops. Secondly, a person needs to make sure their toes are well-manicured, since flip-flops expose the top portion of the foot. People who have foot conditions will not look attractive in flip-flops. Even women with unpainted toenails won’t look as good, (regardless of whether or not their toenails are healthy). So, the best solution is to resolve any health issues associated with the foot along with painting the toenails. In fact, with the right color nail polish, the look of the flip-flop can be accentuated more when the toenails get painted.

This first pig story is full of fun and adventure. It takes place during the summer holidays in the Piggis’ back garden in Piggi Paradise. The boys first challenge the girls to a game of football. Piggi Pink, the youngest girl, is quite nervous about this at first but Piggi Plump, her older sister, helps by encouraging her and by being a good team leader. Later that day, after a rest and some lemonade they have a ‘Tug of War’ competition; boys against the girls. I won’t reveal who wins!

This pig story helps to teach young children important social skills such as teamwork, persistence and good sportsmanship. The story is also amusing and makes adults laugh as well as children!

This pig story is beautifully illustrated with watercolours, and is suitable for children from a very young age (3 to 4 years old), up to around eight years.

The holidays have just barely ended and you’re probably planning how to lose 10 pounds or somehow be a better person for 2010, but it’s also time to start thinking about spring fashion. This is a quick wrap up of what’s hot and what’s not for spring 2010 shoe fashion. I’ll also give you some predictions that you can use or lose.

What’s IN:

1. Keep those platform shoes that you bought in the fall handy. Platforms and anything sky high is here to stay for the spring. They might be toned down a tad (forget the 17 buckles and studded heels) but they’re still in.

2. Slouchy boots are here to stay. If the skinny jean is here to stay, then then slouchy boot and the tall boot aren’t going anywhere either. There are a lot of styles to choose from and you can’t really go wrong as long as you don’t hang on to those ones you got back at the beginning of the craze when they were ultra chunky.

3. The tall riding boot is here to stay too. They’re casual and easy, but classy looking. Pick a simple, chic high quality pair.

4. The strappy sandal is evolving once again. Now its with wider bands that wrap around the ankle and sometimes partially up the calf. It’s starting to look like a bootie with cut outs, sort of like the gladiator has grown a heel and bulked up a bit.

5. Satin pumps in rich colors are everywhere right now. Find the ones with the little platform in the front that blends right in to the rest of the shoe.

Whats OUT:

1. Sorry, but the cowboy boots are looking wonky these days. Ditch them and get some trendy boots that serve the same purpose.

2. As I mentioned above, boots aren’t going anywhere. If you bought yours a few years ago and they have a chunky heel, it’s time for an upgrade.

Predictions:

1. Even those thigh high boots will get more extreme. The ones that look like leggings will gain some traction this spring and be huge by next winter.

2. Since those crazy Alexander McQueen shoes got a lot of buzz, I bet we’ll start to see some more street accessible versions popping up over the next year or so.

3. Comfort will continue to integrate with fashion. This year has been pretty comfortable with the popularity of the wedge and the platform. 2010 will continue with that trend and we’ll all look and feel great in our sky high shoes & boots.
